What is it?

A non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing, preserving and protecting the resources of Kachemak Bay State Park. They try to get people to visit the park, and raise money for various maintenance efforts.

Teen Services:

Use the park! Or volunteer. Get help with a senior project.

Cost? Discounts?

$35/year membership fee; Cabins are $55-$75/night.

Members get discounts on water taxis.

The state park requires volunteers to be 18, but the Friends does not. Youth can volunteer to maintain trails across the bay, or help with smaller projects on this side such as painting signs.

Trails maintenance days, first week of June: Get a water taxi across for $20.Spend the morning helping clean up trails, and then spend the rest of the day hanging out and exploring.
