Teen Services:

Teens are able to seek advocacy, counseling.  The shelter is a safe place, open 24/7. For youth under 18 to use the shelter, parental consent is needed. We provide emergency food boxes for people in between the Monday food pantry if someone really needs some food.

People can also come into the shelter, women and children, to get a hot meal most any time they need it.

Haven House can provide vouchers for clothing items at Homer Thrift and transportation vouchers for local cab companies when needed.

Youth can volunteer doing any number of things from sweeping the parking lot or painting the walls, to helping redesign brochures.

Benefits to Teens:

“I think the easiest way that we benefit teens is through our crisis line ’cause it’s open to anyone and it’s confidential and it’s local, so if you’re in crisis you can always call, even if it’s in the middle of the night, even if it’s not about domestic violence necessarily”; There is a licensed therapist available for youth of any age. Parental permission is not needed, it’s confidential and free.

Haven House supports Youth on Record, Mindfulness Meetings, occasionally a Parenting Class, Girls on the Run.
